This covers a recent oil spill and the regulator is now trying to identify the culprit.

This is an all too common problem. It certainly looks like there has been a failure to contain waste oil at a site. The pollutant has found its way into the river and the only option open to the polluter is to repair the damage to the Environment and wildlife. As no site has flagged up the incident there is likely to be a criminal investigation to find the culprit. The polluter might still be unaware they have had a pollution incident. Sites storing oils and chemicals need to be aware of the risk of spills into the surface water drains. The potential cost of this incident may permanently impact the business.
