Fire alarm
In the event of a fire, water from sprinklers or suppression systems often mixes with stock materials and rainwater, creating a highly polluted runoff. Rapidly isolating drainage is critical to preventing contaminated water from reaching the environment.
The ToggleBlok System can be easily linked to your fire alarm. By connecting the fire panel’s volt-free, normally open signal to the ToggleBlok controller, the valve will automatically close five seconds after the alarm is triggered. Delivering fast, reliable protection.
pH
pH measures the acidity or alkalinity of water, with 7 being neutral.
Many sites monitor pH as part of discharge consent compliance, ensuring water leaving the premises remains within permitted limits.
Most pH monitoring systems are equipped with analogue relays, which can be configured to trigger the ToggleBlok Valve if a pre-set pH threshold is breached for more than five seconds, helping to contain potentially harmful discharges before they enter the drainage system.
Turbidity
Turbidity sensors detect suspended solids in water and are commonly used on construction sites or at food processing facilities like dairies. Substances such as clay or milk can trigger high turbidity alarms, indicating contamination.
These monitors typically include analogue relays and can be configured to activate the ToggleBlok Valve automatically if turbidity exceeds the set limit for more than five seconds. Dual-function controllers are also available, allowing pH and turbidity to be managed together with shared hardware.
Oil Separator Alarm
Since 2005, UK regulations have required oil separators to include alarms that detect hydrocarbon build-up. These alarms ensure the separator is functioning properly and can alert you before oil breaches the system and enters the drainage network.
ToggleBlok can be directly linked to oil separator alarms, enabling the valve to close when high oil levels are detected or in the event of a spillage. Preventing harmful discharge and enabling rapid containment.
Flood monitoring
Flood level sensors range from basic mains-powered systems to solar and battery-powered units. These can be used to trigger the ToggleBlok Valve to open or close based on high water levels.

The RACP is a wireless remote control unit designed to work with any monitoring device equipped with a volt-free, normally open contact. It uses SMS over a mobile network to activate up to eight ToggleBlok Valves. This is ideal for remote or hard-to-cable locations.
