Drainblok™ is our entry level proactive pollution containment system using an inflatable stopper. David Cole invented the first automated bladder system “envirovalve” in the 1990’s to deliver a proactive containment system for industrial spills. The Drainblok™ design was initially developed for the Environment Agency and the UK Fire and rescue service in 2006 as a containment system for use during emergency spills and fires; where the pathway of site could be stopped to prevent pollution.
Drainblok bladder valves can be used as a portable product to carry to a drain in an emergency or pre-installed as a fixed system on sites so that they can be inflated during a spill or fire stopping the flow through the drain.
Drainblok™ features and benefits
- Retro fits into almost any drain
- Easy to use keeping operators away from the hazard of spill
- Prevents pollution reaching controlled water
- Helps meet iso14001 compliance
- Used by UK fire service and featured in the FRS environmental training manual
- No confined space entry needed
During a spill conventional spill control is based around spill kits. This method increases the spill material to a waste product and is not readily open to reuse. Drainblok™ uses the natural flow of a liquid into the drains and captures it at the lowest point. A well-designed system means the spill can be collected and even recycled generating little or no waste.
Drainblok™ is used by almost every industry sector from Food to engineering businesses. Every business can pollute, it is essential to understand the potential risk to pollute from a fire or a spill. Drainblok™ is perfect for low risk sites where there is time to respond.
